The "wave" is actually an Islay thing, I've never seen it to that extent anywhere else in Scotland. I gather you're mainly a mountain biker, so I'm slightly surprised by your choice of Islay as a holiday destination it not being particularly known for that? But then again Brian Palmer is doing a lot of road cycling on Islay, so may be it's not such a bad idea. Keeping in mind how rough some of the roads on Islay are, some of your tracks might be smoother... Nice to read you had a good time on Islay.
