Thanks to Acer I am now sat in a top floor suite of a posh hotel in Southend on Sea looking out of the window at the pier and all its ‘attractions’. Southend on Sea is not worth the trip, its a bit of a dump to be honest but today’s Mountain Biking at the Olympics, now that is a different story. Simply put it was awesome, like being at a XC mountain bike race and a rock concert or festival at the same time. 20,000 people spread out along the course, great vistas and viewing where you could be close up and personal or take in half the course from a lofty hilltop. Loads of noise and great racing.
The organisation was first class, we dumped our car in the suburbs and cycled in to the free cycle parking, security was friendly and smaller queues than any uk airport. The arenas were great with big screens to catch the action on the rest of the course, including the medal ceremony, but we could see their top halves anyway.
We were even treated to a display by a high altitude RAF parachute display team.
Ill let the photos do the rest of the talking. Tomorrow is more of the same when the men come out to play, thankyou, thankyou Acer, what a fantastic prize…
